Fumee Natural Lake Area
Location: Iron Mountain (Dickinson County)
Terrain: Dirt, mostly flat
Trail Rating: Moderate
Manure: Scatter in woods off the trail, remove from day staging locations
Approximately 17 miles of trails that are 12' wide! Between two lakes, by a bench is a 3-mile snowmobile trail that is flat and perfect for cantering!
Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed!

Fumee Lake Natural Area consists of 1,800 acres of protected land.

Trails are open to non-motorized users, all dogs must be leashed.

Main trail loop around Big Fumee Lake is 4.45 miles.

Trail loop around Little Fumee Lake is 1.55 miles.

Between the 2 lakes, by a bench there is a small hidden trail to the big lake with sandy beach access for you to enjoy. There is a 3-mile snowmobile trail, that is flat and about 10' wide, perfect for cantering! You do not have to remove manure from this trail.

Single-track technical trails are found on each side of the lakes. The Northern Mountain loop is 4.4 miles, where you climb up and down the side of a mountain, and weave between trees. The Southern Ridge loop is 2.8 miles, with an overlook of Quinnesec, stream and bridge are on this path.

If the ground is soft enough to leave marks, please refrain from using trails until ground is solid.
